Change In Ownership of Atlantic Inertial Systems
By Taylor Pilewski on November 17, 2009
I am pleased to inform you that, after receiving strong interest from a variety of potential purchasers, J.F. Lehman & Company has reached an agreement to sell Atlantic Inertial Systems ("AIS") to Goodrich Corporation ("Goodrich"). It is anticipated that the sale transaction will be completed before the end of the year following the receipt of various regulatory approvals.
Goodrich, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading supplier of systems and services to the aerospace, defense and homeland security markets worldwide. With one of the most strategically diversified portfolios of products in the industry, Goodrich serves a global customer base with an extensive worldwide array of manufacturing and service facilities. Goodrich views AIS as a high growth platform with exceptional technological capabilities. As such, it will be an excellent complement to Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems business within its Electronic Systems segment. The combination of AIS with Goodrich is one that will benefit all of our customers and will enable our US and UK businesses to continue their trajectory of profitable growth.
Over the past two years, AIS has been fortunate to earn a leading market reputation across the globe. The credit for this goes to each of our employees who have worked so diligently to create such a strong business and brand name on both sides of the Atlantic. I want to take this opportunity to thank you personally for the hard work and commitment you have shown this company. We can collectively look forward to a very bright future for AIS as part of Goodrich.
Yours sincerely,
Christopher Holmes
President CEO
